Update from the table 5/3/07

YOU’RE DOING IT!!

Thanks to your strong voices in the shop, the company had no choice but to withdraw their proposal where ALL promotions are by 3 co-equal factors. “Most-senior qualified” is restored!!!

The company was standing firm on this issue until they heard from you. You are speaking loud and clear and they have no choice but to listen. Holidays have been restored too!

Solidarity always wins!

Great Job!  Keep it up!  Time to crank it way up!!

Updates from the table 5/2/07

After another slow day at the table that saw no movement to,

Pension      -       Healthcare      -          401k

Wages       -       Overtime       -      Vacation      -      Holidays.

Local Lodge 743 members and supporters rocked the Sheraton in East Hartford. The contract 2007 rally was a rocking success. We thank all of you that participated. We sent a clear message to the company that we Demand a better contract!

Update from the table 5/01/07

Again no major movement or resolution to your key issues.

  • Pension

  • Healthcare

  • Promotion language

  • Wages

  • Automatic wage progression

  • Overtime

  • 401k savings plan

  • Voluntary early retirement

The company wasted a significant amount of time fixing all their typos in Article 8.

We need to give this "one trick pony" a Good kick in the ass. Tell management to "GET 'ER DONE"!

Come to the rally today and make your demands heard.

"Honest, I'm not a jack ass"

Update from the table 4/30/07

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

Many of the proposals presented to the company by your committee were received with a loud NO!

During a discussion of Article 28 Kevin Ruffer referred to future possible work leaving the Windsor Locks facility as "STUFF". What does that make us, stuffers. they clearly have no respect for our jobs or the work we do.

The Company finally removed their proposal of breaking up job ladders in Mech Ops, SLS, and HSWR. The membership spoke loud and clear that this proposal was unacceptable. The company had no choice but to listen to the demand of the members!

Your voice and solidarity clearly have power!! Great Job!!        Keep it up!!

The company insists on removing "Most Senior Qualified" language from all promotional opportunities. This language would bring us back to contract language we had 47 years ago. We refuse to be set back 47 years. If we allow this, be prepared for unchecked promotional abuse by management.

Your seniority means nothing to them!

Update from the table 4/24/07

The negotiation team meet Tuesday with the company. Like all  the sessions so far, the progress was very slow. We have presented to the company all of our proposals and have give detailed explanations for the changes that need to be made. The company has listened to our demands with little apparent interest. It's like talking to the wall. They're just going through the motions and sending the message  that they really don't care.

After many request by this committee the company still can not give reasonable justification for the outrages increases in health care costs to our members. Despite record profits and sales, they still feel the need to shift the costs of health care onto the workers at a rate of 61% in the first year. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!

During this session the company explained their proposal to eliminate "Most Senior Qualified" and have ALL promotions selected by 3 co-equal factors. This sets us back to the same language we had in the 1960's. Seniority means nothing to them. Don't let management pick and choose who gets promoted regardless of qualifications.  WE REFUSE TO BE SET BACK 47 YEARS!!!

The company has also proposed to break up job ladders in Mech.Ops, SLS and HSWR to pre-Jet days. This creates smaller seniority pools and subjects many members to increased layoff potential. TELL MANAGEMENT YOU WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS PROPOSAL!!!

The company has made progress painfully slow. With your help and strong voice in the shop we can move theses negotiations faster. We need your help! Noise in the shop is a clear message to the company that you are not happy!!

We need to let management know we want progress. They NEED to hear from you in the shop!

Come to the rally and make your demands loud and clear!
